Safe Speeds in Cities: Street design, speed limits and law enforcement. 2nd Safer City Streets Webinar

As part of the Safer City Streets initiative, ITF organises a series of webinars to share best practice for urban road safety. The webinars will explore the policy toolkit for the elimination of serious and fatal crashes. This includes speed management, street design, predictive analytics, procurement and the engagement of a wide range of stakeholders. This second webinar session debates cities’ recent strategies to reduce and enforce speed limits in Bogotá (Colombia), Fortaleza (Brazil) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). These cities were selected for the recent ITF publication on Best Practice for Urban Road Safety. The debate highlights their strategies to secure public support, the challenges in a context of rising motorisation and rising use of motorcycles and high-speed culture, and the results achieved so far.
